DirectionParent A has the higher table amount
This is only the arithmetic difference between two table amounts. Shared-parenting support is not determined by offset arithmetic alone.
This is not a shared-parenting child-support determination. It only subtracts one entered table amount from the other. Shared-parenting support can require consideration of additional factors.
Use the official tables first
Justice Canada's current child-support table look-up helps users find the base table amount based on the paying parent's gross annual income, number of children, and province or territory. It also warns that the base amount is often not the final amount, especially where there are special expenses or shared parenting. This tool is designed for the next arithmetic step once those base amounts are already known.
